Hey Odie. I did reply earlier, but noticed my post had disappeared. I replied at length, but in a nutshell the first Tigers came off the assembly line in August of 1942 and went into service immediately. The Tiger l's were produced until August of 1944 (1,347) when production switched to the King Tigers until the end of the war. There were several different variants produced of both types with a little over 400 of the Tiger II's built.
I always thought the Tigers were later in the War.
