Obviously, the hostage did something to anger the guy holding him at gunpoint. The lovely young lady was simply trying to mete out some justice, and save the guy from having to shoot the hostage himself.
In a hostage sit like that, it's good to know the close one you love, and trust, and to know the signals. That being said, you gotta share the signals meanings...ahead of time.
Was the guy holding the hostage a friend of hers?
