"THEY" Have Already Come For The Collectors

It has been two weeks since I quoted Rev. Martin Niemoller's poem, "First they came for.........", in response to the recent removal of Confederate monuments in Charlottesville, VA. Since that time there have been additional military monuments removed such as, a bust of Christopher Columbus destroyed in Yonkers, NY park, efforts to rebrand military bases named after Confederate Generals, and even a call to remove Charles A. Lindbergh's name from Terminal 1 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Int. Airport (because of the famous aviator's pro-NAZI stances). Two weeks ago I implored our hobby to speak up before "THEY came for us", but now it appears we did not speak up soon enough.

  1. I have a friend that has spent 20+ years collecting all the parts for no less that 6 complete WWII Nazi uniforms, worth thousands of dollars. Now I'm afraid they are worthless.

The commie bastards that want to erase history.

  2. Exactly Sarthurk. The commies are using the same tactics as ISIS (or ISIS is using the same tactics of the communist) in their attempts to erase history or a peoples identity. Hopefully your friend's collection will retain it's value. There are still a lot of solid collectors out there whose primary interest is history.

  3. Personally, I've had a problem with shows having the old, Imperial Rising Sun flags for sale. Often these belonged to individual soldiers, who in most likelihood, did not return alive from the war, and may still have living relatives (brother sister) in Japan. These flags, which are signed could be traced back to these now very old direct survivors as the only tangible link they have to their departed brother. There is at least one organization I know of which does try to track down who had a particular flag and who are their survivors.
