Beautiful work! What are they?
No kidding. What the hell are they. Look like they belong in a engine.
I think they go to some semiconductor equipment. I only have a guess. Maybe I can ask the customer tomorrow.
That is some beautiful machining...............
Next step anodizing or chromate? Looks like 50 or 60 series aluminum.....as a machinist you should be able to tell by how the shavings come off the block.
Many years ago when I worked in a shop we would have a contest to see who could make the longest stringer.............
Nice widgets there
I'll echo that's beautiful surface finish on that (looks like) aluminum. Is that from using forced coolant flow, or misting? Or just from perfect feed and speed?
Flood coolant and a SECO milling cutter http://www.secotools.com/en-US/Global/Products/Milling/Square-Shoulder-Milling/Square-6/I will post a follow up with some pictures in a bit.
I loved working with the milling machine in Metal shop class in High School, circa 1974. I sometimes think I missed my calling, but a biologist I would always have been anyway, so, no worries.
