I was around 10 or 11 (mid-70s) when I started hiring out my snow-shovelling services--far from a "young adult"--I was in the Army by the time I was 19.

ReplyDeleteWe had a kid who mowed our lawn every over week for six years. He grew up!
ReplyDeleteWe still get offers from other kids in the neighborhood when we neglect the grass, so this spirit isn't completely stamped out.

ReplyDeleteIt turned into big business now. All those lawn care companies hiring Mexicans shift over to this in the winter.
