  1. My what long snood you have, Tom. Beard is coming along nicely, too.

  2. Turkeys have become common here in California, and they have real attitude. They invade suburbs and golf courses, and give you the stink eye if you have to chase them away. In a TEOTWAWKI situation, my neighbors and I could eat hearty for two or three weeks on our locals flocks alone. Then, when the turkeys are gone, cannibalism!

  3. Somewhere in my photos and videos I have pictures of 22 turkeys in California that use to make a morning stroll through our neighborhood. They were fun to watch.

  5. Love to watch the hens and the chicks when they come through. Sadly, the coyotes get a lot of the babies.

  6. When I lived in Oregon (home of Crater Lake, your header photo), I had a flock of turkeys on my land. One big tom got into my deer-fenced (8' high) garden, and couldn't figure how to get back out. I had to corner him, tuck him under my arm, and carry him out.

  7. I had a lot of turkeys at a cabin I have in southern British Columbia. This spring I saw a large red fox, for the first time ever. This spring I also found 12 turkey kill sites. Coincidence? I think not.
