  2. Photo 16 look more New Zealand than American.

    The peak on the hat of the NCO in the foreground looks more "lemon-squeezer" than Montana*.

    PS You can tell whomever wrote the captions, they don't know much about how the US government works. "President Woodrow Wilson" never "declared war on Germany", Congress did.

    *The "lemon squeezer" peak got its name from its resemblance to the kitchen tool used to get juice out of fresh fruit and was standard headgear in the New Zealand Army in both World Wars.

    The Montana peak was popularized by American cowboys in the late 1890s and adopted by the US Army and Marines. It's now more often called the "Smokey the Bear" hat.
