Accuracy is demanded, when you're drilling holes through cheap dog food.
Why do you have a drill press just for Chinese people?
You guys are funny. Real funny. ;-)
Dear IRISH: I'm really confused now. My American drill press was made in China. What should I do?
Throw it out when it's no good and get another.. they are cheap ;)
It took me months and 3 replacement chucks to get it under 0.050 run-out. :-\I hit it with a sledge when I got pissed....and it runs around 0.005 now. :-)And you'll save yourself some gauge watching if you cut a 4x4 to fit under it ;-) (ask me how I know!)
This one runs out pretty good too. I smacked it around a bit with a lixie hammer NOT a sledge. yet,
Gotcha. Hell, with enough run out like I started out with, you wouldn't even need a dedicated countersink bit. Just let it wobble before you run it through.
I've got one of those cheap Harbor Freight Made In China pieces of shit, you can see the chuck wobble with the naked eye.Run Off is more like it.WTF is someone trying to drill so precise they would need a ten thousandths gauge on a POS drill like that anyway?
I added the indicator ;) I was doing secondary ops ( countersinking 2 different diameters on the same part) The indicator allowed me to raise and lower the table .05 each time I wanted to make a change. I guess I needed to explain the picture better :)
My Father bought me a chink-a-wanka drill press. I was better off to use a Black and Decker hand held drill.
And is that copper I see in the back? WTF? Bullets?
Alas, not bullets. Just copper bus bars for the power industry :)
Gotcha. Save the scraps. I hear copper is worth something these days!
