My town is one of the last stops before the exorbitant prices along the beach. The beverage barn is an oasis for those parched by traveling and in need of quick revitalization.
It's pretty neat to make a stop. You pull in, they ask what you want, take your money, load your vehicle and off you go, without leaving the air conditioning.
You could make a stop, without your pants, and nobody would know.

DeleteI remember those stores - didn't think they were around anymore. Big Al used to load up the trunk of the '64 409 (back in the good old days).
