Just be aware that some places have ordinances against even shooting these in your back yard. You probably know this, just wanted to be sure as I was considering getting something like that to shoot in my back yard.
My only suggestion is to put yesterday's header babe back up when you've received the desired crossbow feedback. This elf is okay, and germane to your inquiry, but yesterday's was hotter.
The Ten Point and the Excaliber are the best bet. They are accurate and powerful up to 75 yards. Will kill deer and hogs at that range. Most of them come with scopes. Papa Mike III
Pissed- I have (and love my Excaliber). It is an older Vixen (not because I am "smaller framed" as it lists in the descriptions) which I bought some 15 years ago as the "entry level model" and "entry level" price at that time. I use it for fun and hunting. Although a deer has never crossed my line, I would not hesitate to take that shot. I used to shoot recurve bows, now love compound bows, but my crossbow- an Excaliber recurve!!
Midway USA is having a sale and a giveaway on their stuff right now. Might be a good time to buy one through them. http://www.midwayusa.com/General.mvc/index/vat-bowhunters

ReplyDeleteThanks Matt, I'll let you know what I find out. I hope others do weigh in.
DeleteIf you want an inexpensive one to learn with or to ditch if needed, ebay and kennesaw cutlery both have decent ones.
