The Sounds and Smells of Breakfast Cooking...

... this morning, took me back to my younger years when my Grandmother would make a big delicious breakfast. Bacon, Eggs, homemade wheat bread, homemade jelly, real butter, coffee. All those sounds and smells were so good.

I remember her cooking on an old cast iron coal fired stove that radiated such nice warmth on a winters day.
For some reason everything she made on that stove from steak to fish to homemade pies, cake and hot fudge sauce for vanilla ice-cream always tasted amazing! Maybe it was the stove or maybe it was just being
at Grandfathers and Grandmothers house that made everything alright.

I whipped up some scrambled eggs and the sound of them cooking brought me back there................

  1. Dude, toss that modern skillet and replace it with a Lodge cast iron model. American made and it will cook up your chow just like G-ma made it. I use mine every weekend for the family breakfast, and it works great.
