"My client is only 18 years old," defense attorney Chaz Chandler said. "All these allegations are impulsive in nature. Naturally, until he's 25, his prefrontal cortex in control of those impulsive behaviors will not be fully developed."
"So , if I understand this correctly, you aren't responsible for your actions until you are 25yo?" - Irish
Really Chaz, Really?

Yeah, if that were me my father would have beaten me till my prefrontal cortex developed. The fact is that little shit endangered people with his stupidity.
ReplyDeleteChaz Chandler? Wasn't he the bass player for the Animals? Later became Jimi Hendrix's manager?
ReplyDeleteI don't think my prefrontal cortex has developed yet, haven't missed it in 65 yrs.
ReplyDeleteHe's gonna have his posterior cortex developed in jail by Bubba and co.
ReplyDeleteNemo
The prefrontal cortex in lawyers doesnt develop until they are 65, Never in the case if judges,
ReplyDeleteFunny how this prefrontal cortex doesn't get a mention when they are talking about voting.
ReplyDeleteBy Chaz's logic, no one should be allowed to drive or enlist in the military or fly a plane or get married , or etc. etc.
ReplyDeleteOops edit "no one under 25 should be allowed".
DeleteSelective service registration is required for males 18 to 25 according to the google.
Yep, 25 is the new 18 so selective service registration is now 25 also.
ReplyDeleteUsing this logic would that include, must be 25 to vote.
DeleteIf anyone tells you this instantly start informing everyone that that person is advocating to rise the voting age
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Now I need some Nips and Appears....
ReplyDeleteSo Adam says to God. That woman, you gave to me, made me eat of the fruit. So it is God's fault?Anything to never take personal responsibility.
ReplyDelete"you aren't responsible for your actions until you are 25yo" .... unless you want to change your sex, then 8yo is old enough to decide for yourself.
ReplyDeletealmost every reply here is more knowledgeable than that dumm-ass lawyer.
ReplyDeleteFully developed Prefrontal cortexes take all the fun out of life.
ReplyDeleteThis bullsh*t rationale for excusing teenage (and early 20's) crime was starting to hit law schools in the early 2000's. It's essentially the same excuse given for not prosecuting retarded people who don't have the mental capacity to understand what is right and wrong.
ReplyDeleteIf we're going to allow it for criminal law, I suggest we also apply it to voting age, contract law, and family and medical law (think age of consent), as well as draft age (as suggested by others). Maybe even age to obtain a drivers license. And why do it by age? Why not IQ?
That would put enough of a twist in the authorities' panties to put a quick end to that nonsense.
