Arkansas Man Under The Charge Of Murder Wins GOP Primary In Sheriff's Race
Aaron Spencer shot and killed the man who allegedly "abused" his daughter. He also just won the Lonoke County primary as a candidate for sheriff last week. Story
The results of the primary inclines me to believe the one who got shot might have "needed killing". Of course, I don't know that. Surely there is more than what we are reading/seeing, but for what ever reason Aaron Spencer still won his race. One of the stories I read said Spencer, after forcing the guy off the road, shot the alleged abuser 15 times and then pistol whipped him in the face. For now I am going with a classic case of FA-FO and got elected.
The dead scumbag kidnapped Spenser's daughter from their house and had her in his truck. Dad did what he had to do to chase down the known perv and end the threat to his daughter's well being.
What you don't read is he found his daughter gone after the truck left in a hurry, caught up, found his daughter in the truck. He says the guy aggressive, a ruckus ensued and the guy got shot. The first paragraph is what happened, that's a fact.
Even professionally trained police officers will empty their mag, reload, and empty again - - without realizing they did two mag dumps. The only value to bringing any ammo home is in case his buddy pops out from behind a tree.
Though i completely agree with what he did, and had it been me, I would have reloaded and emoty the second magazine, cant help but think thisbis a stunt my his lawyer to get sympathy outside of the county, inturn tainting prospective jurors for the trial.
I wish him the very best in both the trial and the polls.
That is the way I see it too Dan. The video showed a picture of a fat old man as the "kidnapper" and that girl was 13. I did a little more investigating into the subject and found the dead man was 67 years old and out on bond facing 43 FELONY CHARGES at the time he took Spencer's daughter. Also, based on what I found, Aaron Spencer is an Army veteran and farmer who obviously is, or at least his actions were condoned to a large degree by his community. He beat his opponent by more than double. I don't think Aaron Spencer will be convicted of anything.
Forty years ago or so three cops from a small city near me got drunk, shaved their heads, and went to the south end of town and kicked the crap out of a family of thieves and crooks. Very little hell was raised with them since the thugs decided that moving out of town was preferable to having a replay of that night. One of the three was later elected County Sheriff and served for twenty or more years and was elected on the basis of what happened that night. Turned out to be a damn good sheriff.
When I was a small boy there was a family who had been stripping their neighbor's gardens at night. In was one of the few instances I knew of growing up that was credited to the KKK (this was in the very early 1970's and in an all white county). Two car loads of klansmen showed up at about dark blocking both ends of the through dirt road the family in question lived on at that time. They tied the husband and wife to trees in their front yard and whipped them both with leather belts and informed them the "stealing" had to stop. That incident ended the garden robbing. I never heard of another wrong committed by them or their family.
If I lived there, he'd have my vote.

He definitely needs a jury trial. There isn't an honest father in the land that would vote to convict.

I am guessing his mag held 15 rounds, but seriously 15 times, I think 14 would have made the point, and not been excessive.

The only problem I'm seeing in this story is Dad being charged with a crime when he should have been give a medal and a commendation.
