New Years Greetings

This is an extinct ring dyke volcano as you can see from the terrain map.

  3. OK, so if you do a Google Earth fly around of Pawtuckaway it looks an awful lot like an impact crater rather than the remains of a volcano. Scan a little further north and look at Ossipee. That looks more like the remains of a volcano, as it is a big circular rounded dome formed from the last load of lava, with the lighter burnt debris having eroded away. Go crawl around on the Pawtuckaway rim and slopes and it's all fractured granite. I think it's an impact crater.

  4. my old bass fishing grounds back in my NH days. my buddy still lives on the lake. Btw, those are hills not mountains
