I'm doubting the broken rib story. I broke one in fall when I was in my 30's. It hurt to breath, even a week later. Forget doing anything strenuous like initiating a physical altercation with people who are not putting up your bullshit and are masters at dishing out physical punishment. Well, unless he was high on something. My experience, pain killers only helped marginally.
