2026 Storm…

Some wind and light fluffy snow.

Not the “winter hurricane “ blizzard at least here at the bunker

Roads were bad yesterday afternoon and evening as the storm hit.  By this morning they were pretty clear and easily traveled

It’s fairly quiet out.  Not a lot of traffic.  Temp is 17 degrees.

In the yard, the snow is over my knees. About 20” with a few more possible during the the rest of the day.

Not much to report on.

  1. 6 1/2" here (NE OH) and in the teens. Not exactly buried (20" one time), but we got some. I think the South, with its ice storms, was where they really got socked.

  2. Be careful if you end out out and about It takes a bit to get used to driving on snow slow and steady wins the race. Here in the land of cheese it is -2 and sunshine and a little breeze to make it more fun. haven't gotten much more snow but it has been cold for days.

  4. Here in NE Texas we didn't get much precipitation. A fair amount of sleet on Friday night (it was 1.5" deep on my deck) and most of Saturday, and a light dusting of snow late Saturday. The roads are a solid sheet of ice and I've only seen a couple of foolhardy drivers out sightseeing. Probably won't get thawed out until Thursday or so.

  8. We had about 4" here in Northern Colorado. Pretty much a 'nothing' storm to us, but I feel for the others in areas that rarely get this kind of weather.

  9. Same as Irish. We here in the Upper CT Valley NH got a foot overnight and today, another 4" by dinnertime and it's over. 2 turns around the yard and driveway with the blower and that'll do 'er there, Lloyd.

Tomorrow there will be snow to play in or ice to skate on! Old farts keep fartin'!

  10. About 10" in New York harbor here on my boat. It crusted over at the end, hard before turning solid, and with 2 acres of steel deck w/lots of protrusions... you know that feeling in your back when the shovel fetches up and catches something, coming to an unexpected halt? Constant.
Breakfast today is a white Monster and 4 ibuprofen for everyone. Can't use power tools to clear the deck. Explosion hazard.
