Time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’ into the future…
That moment you get your coffee and it kicks you in the nuts. It’s tough realizing how long ago 1975 was. 50 years. Sometimes, it seems like yesterday.
Put your big boy pants on and get to work. You aren't getting anywhere profitable and you better do the career that you want to do: before the old Grimm Reaper shows up on yer door step.
I graduated in 75. Hard to believe it's been 50years. ( Also hard to believe that "90's music" are now " oldies". Sigh, my favorite music is often played as background in grocery stores.)
Also HS done in 75. I am looking at mt Pilatus across Lake Lucerne. Was here 35 years ago with the first mistake. Took me that long to be able to afford my first international foray. Now back with my queen and teenage spawn twins. I hope they appreciate the hard work it took from the queen and I to get to this point, but likely they won’t realize it for 30 years or so - and that’s ok.
Doesn’t seem like it has been 51 years since I was a 17 year old, fresh out of high school, standing on those yellow footprints in San Diego with a deranged psycho yelling at me. But here I am. And I agree with BC.
Knock it off! You better quit crying before life gives you something to cry about! You're alive, You're breathing, you have an electronic device and electricity... You've eaten and bathed in recent history. And if you've put Internet surfing ahead of eating and bathing then you deserve your lumps. Put your big boy pants on and be grateful to the Lord for what you have. And if you're still in a bad mood, go to a 'No Kings' protest and kick some soy boy in the crutch. That'll make you feel better.

You have a heckuva 'tude, Skybill. A good one !! Live, laugh, love, kick naysayers in the nutz. Full send, bro. Never be sorry for your choices and convictions, it makes you what you are. Carry on.
50 years, education nothing like "we" youngsters had, employment was you have to get a job, no living in parents house so much has changed and guess what Ronald Reagan was right, Freedom is one generation away from being taken away.
50 years ago I was in my mid-30s, recently divorced, beginning a new career and just traded my Mustang MACH-I in for a VW Beetle. Life was good. Now I'm a fat, bald, 80 something grumpy old man. Life, or what's left of it is still good.
Got married at the end of June in '75. Its been the best 50 years of my life. (The wife have have some quibbles with that.) Glad to still be alive and kickin'.
Married my Eternal Companion on The Ides of March, 1974 - going strong! 51 years, and it does indeed seem like yesterday... then I try to stand and it all comes rushing back. Ouch!
It takes 50 years of examination of choices made and the results thereof. But you can't go back.
ReplyDeleteI've been putting off the decision about what to be when I grow up. I couldn't have planned the last seventy plus years, so why jinx things now?

DeleteYou know you're getting old when your rock idols are dying from old age instead of overdoses.
