Bruce would be hunting a straw: Beachcomber Lotto

Baldwin County Alabama sheriff issues warning after 110 lbs. of Cocaine washes up on the beach

                                                                                                   STORY

Years ago there was on an old boy that ran an excavator for us. He was a great operator who and could be a very funny guy at times. One day he and I were talking about some of our exploits from the 80s, old times,  etc, and he was explaining the "drug phase" of his life which turned out to be pretty comical. He went on to explain that he never had any problem with drugs and had been only a casual user, etc. However, there was BUT in there. He went on to say had never used a lot of drugs and had tried cocaine a few times during that period of his life and liked it, but really didn't think the drug was worth the money, etc.. He said it'd been years since he'd touched the stuff, "but I can tell you one thing" he went on to say, "if there was an eight ball laying on the dash of this machine right now, I'd be hunting me a damn straw!" I'm sure he'd have some funny comments about this story. I can just hear him saying, "call the law, hell!".

  2. When I was in high school in the 70's a bale of Mexican Red washed up on the Georgia coastline. I would make the gonzo large Cheech and Chong joint for parties and concerts. It took about 5 months for me and my buddies to go through it. It did have a lot of stems and seeds.

  3. They used to call those bales of drugs "Florida grouper" or something like that back during the height of the Miami cocaine trade back in the 70-80's.

  7. Back in the 80s I was fishing on Edisto Beach SC & found a bunch of square grouper, as we called them, pot & cocaine. A few were dry & got buried in the dunes, the wet ones got reported to the police. Took a few night fishing trips to get it home.

  8. In the Bahamas, we had two dogs, one morning they would not answer calls....found one almost passed out on the porch, the other male would fall over when lifting his leg to pee. They had found a 'square grouper' washed up somewhere on the beach, chewed open one corner and took a small sample. Stoned pups, they were. Took a day for them to recover. The package had been in the sea so long it had barnacles growing on it, but kept it's potency.
The police said that one package was worth ~40 thousand or so. Asked them to please take it off the island.
They seemed happy to do that.
