Nitzakhon as we've discussed before, a normalcy bias wife you need to work around. When things get Weird She will be demanding WHY you didn't prepare. Trust me on that, been there, done that, got the tee shirt. A small temperature-controlled bring your own lock storage unit can hold a huge amount of survival food and such.
Putting a yard sale battered Christmas tree in the front along with boxes labeled kids toys, clothing and such does a lot to make your deposit look nearly worthless to those curious eyes.
As I figure that REAL Trouble will be here with in 2 years simple CURRENTLY cheap canned goods, some thrift store emergency clothing, shoes, gear, cooking pots (AMAZING what I find in thrift stores) can be an inexpensive gift towards troubles. No need IMHO to buy expensive per calorie "Survival Foods" but a few cases (repackaged as above) of LDS long term is also useful. Rodent resistant packaging of salt and sugar is a cheap and well worthwhile idea. Maybe some "Other" tools and seeds? A sealed package of plain pool shock and instructions in using it for making water purification bleach (also useful for sanitation in general) is cheap JUST double airtight package it as it's fumes are corrosive.
!4 Banana's - I was on to visit my parents. Walked in the door, there's Mom standing at the sink washing a bunch of bananas WITH SOAP.
Me: Mom, why are you washing bananas with soap or washing them at all. Mom: I heard it on "The View". Me: Rolls eyes. Mom you do know that the skin of a banana is thick enough to prevent bacteria and viruses from getting to the good part and the acid in the skins kills them too, don't you? You also should know that "The View" is pure propaganda. Practically nothing those women say is true. She stopped.

Oh, things are adding up alright and it's not looking good for our Republic.
ReplyDeleteThe fish does rot from the head.
Protect your family, it's going to get hard soon.
My problem is that my USSR-born wife sees no problem. IMHO, it's denial. She doesn't want to admit that bad times are coming.

The old "Minion on the road so I can't make it to work ploy." Works every time.

ReplyDeleteNah, Anon. They won't be wearing blue. Look to Canada's trucker protest. Broken up by non-insignia wearing military types.
