I had a European style breakfast this morning at the firehouse. Two hard-boiled eggs, sliced cheese, slices of cold Spam, raisin toast, and some fresh pineapple chunks all washed down with some black coffee. What's sprinkled on top of your eggs in the photo, Irish?
Could be paprika. However I'm betting fresh ground pepper medley. The pepper in the yolks looks yellow because the pepper sinks in just enough that the yolk color is still visible and notice the color of the pepper in the whites.\
This is exactly how I make my fried eggs, adding fresh ground pepper medley as the eggs cook. However, I can no longer eat bacon. The nitrates screw up my heart rhythm.

ReplyDeleteMy guess is paprika
DeleteMight be... chili powder or the like. Ain't regular pepper, methinks.

Those are not fresh eggs for sure. Yolks too pale and flat. There’s nothing like getting your breakfast from one of your early layers….
