Car Crashes Crowd at Charlottesville Event

This scene reminded me of the old saying "he was driving it like it was stolen". I am not sure if it was a he, she, etc. At this point I am not sure the authorities know who done the ramming and who got rammed. I am surprised that more than one person was not killed.

R.I.P. Glenn Campbell

One of the greatest guitarist EVER. He had a wonderful country music career with tons of awards, a television show,  starred with John Wayne in True Grit and at one time was married to Tanya Tucker! Woo-hoo!

House With Confederate Flag Stormed in Alabama Two Males Killed (aka "Rabbittown Murders")

On July 23rd, at about 4:00 A.M., two black males stormed a home near Piedmont, Alabama. Two white males, Travis Frost a grandfather and his grandson Joshua Dylan Moody, were beaten and shot to death. Frost's wife, the grandmother, hid and was not found by the attackers who also stole and burned the couples car a short distance from the crime scene.

Local media outlets have been practically silent regarding this crime. Until the recent break below, there had not been any mention of race, pictures of the victims or the perpetrators. Neither has there been any mention of the Confederate Flag being the motivating factor or of a granite monument erected in memory of Travis Frost and placed at his favorite fishing spot by friends. This is very a very unusual crime for this area. Click HERE for the rest of the story and watch the video to see the Sheriff's latest press release.

MP38(L) German Experimental Lightweight Submachinegun

One would imagine that everything about German submachineguns of WW2 has already been written, but in depth research still goes on and sometimes a little treasure will surface. So, for the first time Small Arms Defense Journal can now show details of the the unique one-of-a-kind experimental submachinegun MP38(L)

Bloomington, Minnesota Bomb Blast at Local Mosque

The Governor of Minnesota and many other talking heads are too quick to point fingers and use terms such as terrorism, Islamophobia, work of extremist, hate crimes, etc.,  after an explosion occurred at a Bloomington,  MN mosque. It is early and a thorough investigation needs to be concluded before these wild accusations are made by folks who do not have a clue. Who is to say the explosion was not the result of some "jihadi-John" wannabe bomb maker mishandling components while building an IED? It has not been that long ago the BATFE was asking citizens to report suspicious activity and/or people who had "suddenly" lost arms, legs, or digits. I suppose the feds felt this would indicate that the maimed person might be involved in a a bomb-making attempt gone awry. Seriously, it is not like those Islamist do not already have a history of making and detonating bombs, running over people in crowded venues, knifing/shooting folks, or generally harming innocent men, women, and children, in the name of allah or anything. These reactions have reminded me of the phrase"never let a crisis go to waste".

The Story That Inspired The Book and Movie Mini-Series Lonesome Dove

An article written by Diane Alden of NewMax.com tells the story of  these men Goodnight and Loving.

"Come gather 'round me boys

And I'll tell you a tale,

All about my troubles

On the Old Chisolm Trail...."

In the history of the West gunfighters and ne'er-do-wells got most of the glory and most of the ink. The History Channel does four efforts on outlaws and lawmen for every one they do on the parade of people who were not so notorious. The fact is the outlaws and lawmen were not THE story of America or the West. Ordinary and not-so-ordinary men and women are the real story.

Click HERE for the rest of this vert interesting story of Oliver Goodnight and Charles Loving who were portrayed as Captains Augustus McCrae and Woodrow Call in the movie Lonesome Dove.

Also, here is a great video on the same subject for those who have not seen it.

I saw this on YouTube as "Lightning Strikes River", but I'm calling det cord and dynamite

Regardless of what caused it, the explosion is powerful.
