Introducing This Kind Of Legislature Can Bite You In The Ass Mo Brooks

After the attack on Republicans last week, representative Mo Brooks of Alabama has decided to introduce legislation which would allow congressmen to carry firearms in  the "gun free zone" known as greater D.C. Sadly, these "fair weather" champions of 2A either do not realize that being armed and properly trained could have prevented this debacle entirely or they chose not to exercise their Second Amendment Right. All rights guaranteed by our Constitution should apply to all American Citizens equally.

For the most part, I like Mo Brooks and he does a good job but there is no way in hell that I could ever support any legislature which grants special rights to congressmen over regular "citizens" (one law for me and another for thee). It is time for all these so-called conservatives who run for office on the notion of and who claim to support the 2nd Amendment to put their asses where their mouths are and plainly state that the "right of THE PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" Laws such as these stupid "feel good" laws in D.C. and many other places throughout our land (i.e. metro D.C., Chicago, and thousands of "parks, schools, etc.") do not offer any protection from CRIMINALS. I bet the pitiful marksman (I don't think he qualifies to bear that title) James Hodgkins was well aware that the area he was targeting was a "gun free" zone. I was really disappointed that while this shooting was taking place that none of the representatives who were on the ball-field didn't pull an iron from concealment or a gym-bag and dispatch this crazed liberal. A person has the right to self-defense. Gun-free zones and these "feel good " measures have no effect other than revealing to bad guys that the zone should be an "soft target" and to expect zero resistance. Also, a congressman who feels the need to pass a law that is already a RIGHT guaranteed by the Constitution really needs a history lesson and a remedial crash course in Constitutional Law. The thought of introducing a law which would grant special privileges to legislators is hateful and another example that there are those in both houses of congress who are ignorant of the laws of this nation and out of touch with reality and the average American "citizen". I hope Mr. Brooks rethinks this position.

  1. For as long as I can remember, members of the City Council in Chicago exempted themselves from their ban on concealed weapons.

  2. "All rights guaranteed by our Constitution should apply to all American Citizens equally."

And if we had a "real" Supreme Court that would be the law of the land. What congress should do is pass a simple law: "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. AND if it is infringed by word or action any citizen has the right to sue the infringer in court for all their worldly assets." Yes it is already in the constitution but clearly it is being infringed.

  3. This happened in Virginia. VA is gun friendly - no permit to open carry, permit required to conceal carry. Not hard to get a non-resident permit, either...

  5. 18USC 242

Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation or custom, willfully subjects any person in any state, territory, commonwealth, possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges. or immunity secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States...shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both, and if death results, or if such acts include kidnapping, or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual assault or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual assault, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years, or for life, or may be sentences to death.

No legal reason congress and senate members cannot carry a weapon. Capital police who enforce any unconstitutional law are subject to this law. As you can see it can be a capital offense.

18 USC 245 does not require willful intent.

  6. The power of the word is greater than the power of the gun. Liberals understand this. It is why they get frustrated and violent when they dont get their way.
