Chickenshit Governor of Virginia Signs Executive Order to "Prevent Gun Violence"

Does anyone in the state of Virginia, including the coward who just trampled the rights of this states law-abiding citizens, really believe this Hitleresque action will prevent ANY gun violence? I hope the law abiding gun owners call for a recall and oust this Quisling! When will the propaganda end? This is the ninth time this week I have seen an article with this statement. "40% of all gun sales are sold by private unlicensed sellers either online or at gun shows". I even heard Hildebeast chanting this mantra last week. I simply do not believe it and the numbers of NEW firearms sales refute this lie. The only guns that can be bought "online" are from federally controlled curio and relics license holders or regular FFL holders. If you don't believe me call up AIM Surplus or any online vendor of firearms and attempt to order one. It will not happen. Go to a gun show and try to buy a new pistol or long gun. An individual can purchase one, but they must go through the same procedure as at any retail outlet (an NCIC background check will be performed). I cannot say for Virginia, but here in Alabama I can sell a pistol or long gun to anyone who is 21 years of age or older, a resident of my state, and whom I know not to be a habitual drunkard or user of narcotics. Believe you me that there have been some sting operations in recent years carried out by various alphabet .gov agencies and I have witnessed individuals selling guns (and though not required) asking to see the prospective buyers drivers license to insure they are of age and a resident. If I were selling one, I would do the same. Very few guns are sold in this manner. I am fifty-one years old and have been going to gun shows all of my life and I may have traded two guns for a gun and bought two pistols. One of those was five years ago and the seller (an individual asked to see my drives license, asked if I was a habitual drunkard or drug user). I believe this drastic action by the govenor of VA is another feelgood measure that will not prevent anything. If he really wanted to get serious, he should provide the statistics committed by perpetrators using "stolen" guns. Then maybe he and the rest of the libtard-gun-hating community might see that criminals did not obey burglary/theft/breaking and entering (and many others laws) statues and know that the term criminal describes one who disobeys or ignores laws. If these criminals are not going to respect these types laws and other peoples property, then why would one believe criminals are going to be deterred by another GUN LAW?

  1. I take an extra step selling person to person. If the buyer does not have a CCW I will only sell through a FFL. In Georgia the requirements for a CCW is a clean record and no mental illness history. There are no gun training classes required so there are many Georgia CCW holders that have no business with a gun. I take pictures of the serial number, full gun, buyer, DL, and CCW.

I have bought some weapons where cash traded hands and gun was exchanged, nothing else. I usually have my pocket pen camera running on all bun buy/sell meets.

  2. All those are sound practices Tony. Alabama doesn't require a training course either. Our legislature recently took some positive steps clarifying some antiquated/confusing statues. We also went from a "may issue" state to "shall issue" state. In the past, a sheriff could deny a CCW simply because he didn't like your haircut. Alabama is also "open carry" with no permit required. The fee for a CCW varies from county to county. In my county the cost is $15 and the permit is valid for five years. I left out the fact that one should always get a bill of sale when buying and a signed statement when selling to an individual stating they are in fact a resident of the state of Alabama, over 21 years of age, and that they are not addicted to alcohol or drugs. I would do this a CYA measure. I know some states have similar laws and some will vary greatly. My son recently advertised a gun for sale and upon asking the prospective buyer if he could pass a background check at a gun store the guy straight out told him he could not. My son told him he would not sell him a gun regardless and that was that.

  4. None of these bullshit laws are to "prevent gun violence". They're all efforts to make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens like you and me to stay within the constraints of the law. In fact, they are trying to make you and me "felons" by enacting legislation that makes us felons without even knowing it. Since we'll be classified as felons, it'll also make us "mentally unstable" and will justify their laws and their efforts to keep guns away from "criminals".

  7. So Virgina has its own version of Cuomo's SAFE Act. Great.....another useless feel good law. It accomplishes nothing. Well other than the reduction of the People's freedoms. If laws were so good at preventing crime, why not make the following illegal: murder, robbery, burglary, rape, arson..... Criminals would then be on notice that this would go on their permanent record, and they could wind up on Double Super Secret Probation. Imagine the embarrassment!
    AAaarrggg - F'n jack-offs!

I keep hearing about private sales being the root of all evil; yet in VT you can buy a rifle, pistol, shotgun through a private sale - no paper work / back-round check required. Vermont has the 2nd or 3rd lowest incidences of gun crime, in the nation. VT is also a Constitutional carry state. Shootings are very, very rare. Most of the gun crimes committed in the state are from individuals from outside of VT - NYC, NJ, etc, etc; that brought their weapons with them - from places where they aren't allowed to have them anyway.

Criminals don't obey laws. Yet they insist on making more laws, to make more of us criminal. So don't be surprised when we won't comply.

Ayn Rand becomes more relevant every day -

Did you really think we want those laws observed? said Dr. Ferris. We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.

  8. The ultimate goal of commie/socialist/progressive/liberals is confiscation.

  9. 90%+ of the contact Virginians have with state government is with Executive Branch agencies. Open Carry is the legal default method carry in the Commonwealth as there are no laws regarding it. Concealed Carry is illegal but they make an exception by granting a permission slip (Concealed Handgun Permit). The current preemption law only applies to local governments/agencies - the biggest hurdle in getting state agency preemption is the way the three branches of government are insulated from each other's influence/control.

This new Executive Order does not just apply to the insides of Executive Branch agency buildings, but to the total property. Think of how the Post Office parking lots are off limits, then multiply that by a bazillion. There are Park and Ride lots set up by the Dept. of Transportation that are now "sterile" territory. Parks and State Forests. Highway rest stops/welcome centers. And on and on and on.

And don't get me started on making those convicted of domestic violence (there is no such crime in Va law) forfeit their guns, as opposed to allowing them to transfer them to a non-prohibited person. Isn't that a violation of the Takings Clause of the 5th Amendment?

The thing is that there has been no "gun violence" in Executive branch agencies. The problems are mostly that the state does not (refuses?) to prosecute "gun crimes" like straw purchases. Va's version of the NCIS check goes through the State Police and the Va Criminal Data Base - how long would it take to call the local cops to go get so-and-so (either while they are at the gun store or at their home since their address is on the forms)?

MadJack is right - this is the first step towards confiscation.

    stay safe.

  10. Hey, the folks in Virginia voted this D.C. assclown into office.

Either they get rid of him, or they deserve the governor that they have!

    1. We tried to get rid of the POS we have in Albany, but all of the urban centers negated the good people of NY. It should be illegal to vote if you are on the dole; without contributing in - of course.
I wish we could secede form the southern half of the state.
That or saw it off, drag it out to sea, and sink it!
Just think of all that structure to fish around - finally a good use for NYC!

    2. They played the game well in VA. Run "libertarian" sponsored by George Soros and drain off the disaffected Republicans to allow Terry "insult to pond scum" McAuliffe to sneak in by 2.5%. Too many people stayed home again. They are so burned out from poor elected officials that they will only vote for a perfect one, and since no such thing exists, they didn't come out.
The good ol' boy Republican Party contributed vigorously to their own defeat yet again.

    3. YES! this x100. Great comment 45ACP+P We must never forget the traitorous GOP who could have helped Cuccinelli get in - but they hated his Tea Party ideas. That's why we have this Clinton re-tread. But have no fear Virginia is still a very pro-gun state and pinkos like this will fade into history soon enough. Gun shows are still packed to the rafters every time here in the Tidewater area.
