Hurricane Sandy, FEMA, Disaster...

I saw this post over at CMBLAKES about the hurricane mess in New Jersey and New York.

There is a link to this CHUCK NORRIS article and the horrors that are going on there.

Right now, homeless Americans are literally freezing, wrapped in blankets and trash bags as they struggle to survive in FEMA tent cities such as New Jersey’s “Camp Freedom,” which reportedly “resembles a prison camp.”
“Sitting there last night you could see your breath,” displaced resident Brian Sotelo told the Asbury Park Press. “At (Pine Belt) the Red Cross made an announcement that they were sending us to permanent structures up here that had just been redone, that had washing machines and hot showers and steady electric, and they sent us to tent city. We got (expletived).”
Sotelo said Blackhawk helicopters patrol the skies “all day and night” and a black car with tinted windows surveys the camp while the government moves heavy equipment past the tents at night. According to the story, reporters aren’t even allowed in the fenced complex, where lines of displaced residents form outside portable toilets. Security guards are posted at every door, and residents can’t even use the toilet or shower without first presenting I.D.

Have any of you heard or seen anything as to what's going on?

Do you have contact with anyone in the area?

It seems odd that we saw the mess Hurricane Katrina left in N.O. day after day after day.

There doesn't seem to be the same type of info coming out.

  1. Obama won, the media will never report these. I remember Katrina in the news for almost a full year. Excuess me now I have to go organize my ammo supply.....

  2. It's a dry run for when they start rounding up and interning domestic terrorists.

  3. Boilerdoc brings up a point: it's National Ammo Day, go out and buy 100 rds of your favorite flavor of ammo today!

  4. I'm typically not a black helicopter guy, however, it's clear Christie was told to keep things on the down low if he wanted government support. That's the reason Barry came here. They keep finding bodies, where's the count ? I've been to these areas, it's far worse than is being reported.

  5. There shouldn't be a comma between FEMA and Disaster.

  6. As I understand it, the Red Cross cannot operate up there due to government regulations Cut and paste on your address bar.

  7. I have seen much more info in the UK's media regarding the disaster. Tragic our country is turning its back on its own people.

  8. Unbelievable! I never would have imagined that in my own country - the greatest country in the world that this would happen. I spent 16 months in Germany and we visited the concentration camp called Dachau (near Munich), which was the model for all the other concentration camps built by the Nazis. We listened to how it went from a "re-education" facility to a full-blown concentration camp. This camp was built for 5k to 6k inmates. When it was liberated there were over 30k inside. I stood there and cried in the middle of that camp...and now, I feel like it's happening all over again...but this time, here in the USA. It's simply unbelievable.
