Something Positive Comes to Jersey From Sandy

  1. Yeah, but all that crap will end up in the Carolinas... sigh

  2. Coastal New Jersey is in big trouble. I'm informed that they ran out of of Tap Out t-shirts and Rohypnol early this morning. In an effort to prevent a riot among 18-26 year old Italians, Ed Hardy has committed to partnering with FEMA to provide emergency trucker caps and hair gel in a massive airlift sponsored by Four Loko.

  4. Are you serious? Is that how that beach really looked before? If so, I have no sympathy for those disgusting people. I have never "got" littering, in fact, when my kids were little I told them Woodsy Owl would come and peck their eyes out if they littered. True. They don't litter to this day. ;)

  5. I'm with Miss Violet, it's disgusting to see that any American can have such a complete disregard for where we live. My dad was big on "Take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints."

  7. I lived at or near the Southern Jersey shore for nearly 30 years, and NEVER saw a beach like that. If the only view you have is of north jersey and the New Yorkers that infest the TV shows, you need to do some research for yourselves. Miss Violet, really? No sympathy? Have you seen the photos of Seaside Heights? I never spent time there, but the town is flat out destroyed. The people who live there all year (after the cameras leave) have had their lives forever changed. One photo of crap that tourists leave(mostly from NY)shouldn't be your basis for judgement.

    1. I have formed my views about people from New York and New Jersey from the media, from the caliber of the politians that the citizens in those places elect, from the un-Constitutional laws that those polititans pass and those same citizens allow themselves to be shackled by. I also know that when those same politians decide to go to DC they want to impose those same anti-Liberty, un-Constitutional laws on the rest of this country. They stand for everything I abhor. If you think I'm going to apologize for not having sympathy for my enemies, you are wrong. If I have any sympathy for anyone it is the people there who believe in Liberty and are doing everything they can to move from those places.
Not to mention, if the people from NJ let those tourists trash their beaches, shame on them. It's in their power to stop it. Something else that's in their power is to not live in an area where the odds are always going to get you, sooner or later. Live on a beach, then sooner or later the ocean is going to claim what is "yours". I bet these people go right back and build where they were. It makes as much sense as the people I saw in AZ rebuild their houses in the same gully where a flash flood washed away their house. I'll save my sympathy for those that deserve it.

  8. Listen all of you.. I live in New Jersey and fish off those beaches all the time and they are NOT like that at all... They are much closer to the bottom picture. The issues of littering and polution primarily come from the fact that most states (specifcally New york) literally ship TONS and TONS of trash out into the ocean on barges EVERY DAY and thenn just dump it into the ocean.. no joke... tons of it...

All that crap, including fricken medical waste at times - washes up on the jersey shore sometimes - but nothig like what is depicted...Though i am not saying the shore towns of jersey beaches are anything like the outerbanks of NC, they are by no means anywhere bad as that picture...

I think this whoel thing is just a ploy of Irish docotoring his pictures to stir conversation on his blog....

    1. J3 that picture was not meant to be disparaging. As with all stereotypes, yes I'm a drunk mic, it was only meant to add a little levity. If you look for that same meme it was used for Hurricane Irene a year ago.

Here are 2 that I quickly found.

  9. Just for the record, I did some google work and

THIS appears to be where the original picture came from:

It was a 4th of July party in 2009 on Pacific Beach in California.
