I found the first one while listening to PANDORA internet radio.
You can listen for free or sigh up. When you go there you can create your own listening "station" so to speak. If you enter "antoine dufour" they will play songs by him as well as other similar artists. Pandora will list the name the song and the album.
Try it out :)
The guitarist on this post was recommended by Bob at the link. He had posted it in a comment on another thread :)
PISSED, I've got a Pandora account with what I call Kitchen Sink Radio, but nothing like that has popped up yet. I'll definitely add them to the mix though.
PISSED, I missed your reference to Michael Hedges the first time thru and I just listened to a few of his things. Seems as tho we've been exploring a genre I know little about considering how many new players I have been exposed to. Great stuff! How sad I didn't hear about him until he was gone.

> He was often categorized as a New Age musician due to his association with the Windham Hill record label. Somewhat in reaction to this, he would describe his music as "Heavy Mental", "New Edge", ""Acoustic Thrash", "Deep Tissue Gladiator Guitar" or "Savage Myth Guitar," amongst other terms.
Gotta love that.
Harp-guitar ... who knew? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTC7kPZZmuM
So much great stuff here, Jon Gomm, Antoine Dufour, Michael Hedges ... wow, just wow.
Okay, that's two awesome guitarists in a row. Where are you finding these guys?

ReplyDeleteExcellent choice, Bob. I just tried out Pandora but my 'net connection seems flaked out so no go yet. Will have to get back to it.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, here's some old Pat Metheny, New Chautauqua
