No fuel issues warranted takeoff(s) (in peace time) exceeding crosswind certification limits. Arriving with less than reserve fuel requirements on board at said crosswind airport prior to declaring either "priority handling" or "an emergency" also warrants some questioning. My comment/opinion stands. respectfully, AlemasterAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-365858055267871677.post-15346173061421305922017-07-09T13:56:26.500-04:002017-07-09T13:56:26.500-04:00Looks like the work of some 7th century Persian ba...Looks like the work of some 7th century Persian barbarians hired because of some libtard affirmative action program to me. What I do not understand is why in hell would somebody build a modern hard surface runway that isn't LEVEL? That strip looked like something of the old show "The Streets of San Francisco"! Just because it is possible to land and take off in horrendous crosswinds like that (which I guarantee you were at wind speeds beyond what the aircraft were rated to land and take-off in) doesn't mean it should be risked, even if it was only crew, and no passengers were put at risk.

In the military it might sometimes be necessary, but one nice thing about flying on and off carriers is that the ship can point upwind (or close) making it a hell of a lot safer to take-off and land in what would have been a vicious cross-wind on some fixed runways. Sorry, Army and Air Force. Navy and Marines have it a bit harder, with your airstrip being on a ship for the most part, but cross-winds aren't much of an issue at sea.Reg Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14099612693763932005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-365858055267871677.post-27527619268686242392017-07-08T20:41:48.057-04:002017-07-08T20:41:48.057-04:00The gear only casters on a B-52, Phssthpok, and, F...The gear only casters on a B-52, Phssthpok, and, FWIW, every Captain and FO in that video should have their privileges suspended by JAA.
