R.I.P. Glenn Campbell

One of the greatest guitarist EVER. He had a wonderful country music career with tons of awards, a television show,  starred with John Wayne in True Grit and at one time was married to Tanya Tucker! Woo-hoo!

    1. That is true tattooman. I'm glad to have grown up in a time when folks had real talent and could actually play an instrument. Since the late 80's, (some earlier) way too many "stars" have been fabrications of marketing. A pretty face, rocking body, pantomiming with synthesizers etc.

  2. One of the few great voices of the late 60s. He didn't have the chops for acting, but he certainly could sing.

He was a studio musician at Capitol in the early 60s and was an unofficial member of the Kingston Trio and the Beach Boys; his guitar work can be heard on many of their albums and he toured as a backup man with the Beach Boys.

Must be one Heaven of a jam session now that he's reunited with his old bud, Jerry Reed.

  3. That's a real bunch in that jam Session. Chet Atkins, Roy Clark, and Ray Stevens as well. I recognize most of the rest, but can't put names and faces together anymore.

    1. It sure was a bunch of the greats. I noticed that right after the Campbell video finished, the next was Waylon Jennings sitting right beside 'ol "Wille Whatshisname" and Bobby Bare.
