Fucking Ticks... Here's One More, of the Already Loooong List of Reasons, They Need To Be Eradicated....

My Buddy just sent me this text........ Would you ever think to look there?

I know nothing about the image other than that tick should be killed slowly and painfully.

  1. Nasty critters. I've found them attached, after clearing fence row. Finding them, or leeches, attached to skin is a very uncomfortable feeling.

  2. My dog got a big one a couple weeks ago right above her eye. It was a Saturday naturally, and taking her to the vet wasn't an option. A retired veterinarian family friend stopped by with one of these handy things

and he took the tick right out in less than a minute. I've since bought several, for myself and family and friends with dogs. The only thing is it takes the tick out alive, and you have to either crush it or drop it in alcohol to kill it. But I like that for removing from humans and dogs, as there's no chance of squeezing the blood from the tick back into the bloodstream.

  3. Sorry to say here that putting anything on a tick to scare it into letting go also causes it to dump the contents of its stomach into the bloodstream. The only way to safely get them off is to suddenly pull them out by the head. Believe me as I have some experience with this. I also am somewhat educated as I have Lyme Disease and several other tick borne diseases. Squeeezing ticks and/or pouring anything on them will only make them vomit their stomach into the bit wound and ENDURE that you catch whatever they have to spread.
Yes I'm being repetitive, but it that important. Besides bacteria, you get parasites and viruses.

As for the dog.... it looks anemic as its gums look more white that a healthy reddish pink. Might have a vet look into that.

Thanks for letting me offer my educated 2 cents here
