Oh Man, More Proof I'm Getting Old...

I was a wee tot when this album came out BUT I remember my mother loved this music and I sure do remember the Album cover.

Dolores Erikson appeared on the cover of Herb Alpert’s ‘Whipped Cream And Other Delights’ LP in 1965. The former model Erikson is now 76.

  2. We must be brothers seperated at birth. My mom had that "Record" too. And yes, I remember that album cover. Stared at it for days. Didn't know why I liked it (five years old then), but I did.

    1. Most of the music back then was way better than the crap today, I know I'm biased but that's ok.

  7. Still sounds great for 50 year old music. I was eleven when it came out. Turned 61 today. That's one that I have in the collection which I started when I was 10 or 11 years old. Didn't buy it then because I couldn't really afford LPs yet. Spent all my cash on 45s. Still have over 4000 of them and I don't know how many hundreds of LPs. Probably over 2000 cds, too. Most of my favorites are still from the '60s. Mostly harder edged stuff like Animals, Stones, Kinks and the incomparable Yardbirds. Really also have a particular fondness for garage and underground, but Herb Alpert brings back fond memories..............................

    2. That was some great stuff. I must have forgotten to comment after I listened to it. Reminded me of a melding of early Pink Floyd, King Crimson and maybe Uriah Heep. If it would have been out back in the day (1970) I would have been playing it at one of our infamous field parties on an 8-track in the '65 Mustang. Cranking at full with the trunk open............................

    3. Check them out on youtube. You can listen to a few of their albums. They started as a Floyd cover band if I remember what I read correctly.

  12. I got it as a freshman in college. Still have it. I fell in lust with his wife, Lani Hall, who had such a sexy singing voice when she was with Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66. I still have that one, too.

    1. That was the Fall semester, '67-'68. That winter semester, Jan - June 68, Blood, Sweat, and Tears (with David Clayton-Thomas) played in our _gymnasium_ at the State University College in Oneonta, NY :-) They were just getting started.
