Goin Back In Time, I Haven't Had This In A Loooong Time.....

  1. WOW. Memories alright.Back in the 1960's when Ballantine's big East Coast brewery was in Newark, New Jersey we use to drink Ballantine India Pale Ale. It was one of the finest India Pale Ales I've ever had.

    Later, in the 1970's we'd drink the regular Ballantine Ale from quart bottles that cost about 95 cents. No wonder they went out of business.

  2. Do you remember their Bock and Double Bock beers with the funny domed can that had a cap like a bottle on it?

  3. A few years ago, I found Ballantine Ale in a grocery store in Salem, NH. So, they may still be in business. Can't get it in Ohio, however.

  4. According to what I read Falstaff breweries bought Balantine back in the early 70's. But I think the product has limited distribution. I haven't seen it in NJ for a while.
