Have You Ever Heard of Jean Michel Jarre?

I bet you have heard some clips from his 1976 album Oxygene....

We used to play this album for hours.......

Jean Michel André Jarre (born 24 August 1948) is a French composer, performer and music producer. He is a pioneer in the electronic, ambient and New Age genres, and known as an organizer of outdoor spectacles of his music featuring lights, laser displays, and fireworks.

His first mainstream success was the 1976 album Oxygène. Recorded in a makeshift studio at his home, the album sold an estimated 12 million copies. Oxygène was followed in 1978 by Équinoxe.

  5. Miguel named many of my own faves from those days - the hours spent submerged in those sounds, when I was tired, or depressed, or feeling mellow, or spacey, or going through a painful divorce - - that tells me a lot of the denizens of this blog are in the same generation as myself.
    So I raise a glass to you all.
    to US, and ours; as my old Irish forebears said,
    May those that love us, love us more;
    may those who don't love us at least like us;
    and may those who don't like us all break a leg, so we'll know them by their limping.
